Dangote Saga and Way Forward
Dangote Refinery Saga and Way Forward
When we are clamoring for a strong institution, when we are pushing for system change and recently when we are indicating Red Flags in how Nigerian Leaders approach our inherent problems and challenges... Many people are labeling us as unpatriotic and other name calling. Up till now, I can't fathom which part of their brain can give such a abno-neurotic signal, for such name calling.
On Dangote Refinery, I did wait for her to defend self. For the past few days, a lot has been recorded, peruse and understood. It's very interesting...
Here are my inputs and I would try as much as possible not to consciously judge.
I will start by asking this questions? Did Nigerians just wake up now? Is it because it's happening to Dangote now or because the Big Forbe Personality is involved?
I want us all to know that, the so call system that is fighting Dangote Refinery now, is the same System that has fought and crumble many small, medium, large businesses and Enterprises that are set to change the course of the country in the past. The vision of Modular refinery establishment were crushed remember?
The same Nigeria that "The Big Trunked and Vast possibilities" Ajaokuta Steel didn't work, The 3 Refineries, Port Harcort , Kaduna and Warri, failed to operate with huge annual budget expended on each, the turnaround maintenance, No single added MW in our Electricity Power Systems for the past decades and this is the same country where misnomer is our National Emblem!
When well meaning and concern citizens point out this abnormalities in the country, some people were labelling them wailing Wailers, naysayers, unpatriotic and bad losers. I can't understand where and how it has to be like that when we all have nowhere to call our homes except our Nigeria but just with different perspectives.
When raising alarms about Multinational leaving the country and other local enterprises that are winding down as a result of "this same system" . We were reminded that the like of Dangote succeeding in the same country, not knowing what's going on beneath that support his success. We were told also that those leaving the country were run out of ideas, lack motivation and at advantage, their exit will stimulate local ones.
The question we should start asking is what's the motivating factor for both, in the whole chaotic business arrangement, between FG and Dangote Refinery, Self or Nation? If it's the National interest, I don't think there'd be any discrepancies other than fine tuning standard and tightening the loose ends, after all, it's same mission. If otherwise, you can fill in the gap...
Looking forward to the solution to the present situation; talking about the Oil industry, it's a large and multidimensional, also unique in its own way. At this moment, the theory of winning some, losing some should come into play. I actually don't know any group termed "cabal", I can only see group of people with Business interest, backed the Nigerian politicians and the Politicians ready to protect businesses of their supporters.
The Main path to way forward, I can suggest is that, it's high time we dismantle power tussled thing, the System of Criminality and Economic Monopoly must end. Let us put aside sentiment of any kind and blame game. Then we work towards solution of which the National interest will be the motivating factor.
All parties must join hands together, Dangote Refinery must work, the three (Warri, Kaduna and PortHacort )Refineries must work and all Licensed Private Refineries must also work and other businesses with no other interest other than growing Nigeria economy locally and internationally!

Nice write up , the interest of the Nigerians is far from the so called politicians which has turned the country to business organisation among them
