Mushin Unsung Hero: Tribute to Hon. Emmanuel Olanrewaju Gbamigboye - 2

 






Let me move away from Road Projects, looking at the construction of Mushin Market, though, I am not in privy of the modalities behind the Market reconstructions, what I am interested is the occupiers, the regular occupiers at the cheapest rate as possible. In some clime, whenever a market is reconstructed, the newly constructed shops, stall or Iso (funny abi, that o is pronounced “or” as in “short”) are always given to the highest bidders.

I am extremely happy, when I saw those Iya Olobi (Our Mums, selling Cola nut), Iya Aladie (Selling  live,  Both Local and Agric Birds), Baba Eleran ( Our fathers and Brothers that are Butchers), Onirago (those selling  live Goats etc), Iya Alaso (those selling Cloths), Iya Alata ( Those selling Tomato and recipes), Iya Oniresi and Ewa(those selling uncooked Rice and Bean, even cooked ones), Those selling vegetable and Iya elewe omo (those selling herbs and healing material) etc relocated to the newly built gated Mushin Market. Once again, I am extremely happy for them by relocating them simply with the fund that most of them can afford, the market is on and it is booming. This is done by the man with the compassion heart. He  made it possible for the targets and the targets are these our Mothers, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters in all trades mentioned and more… regardless of their Tribe, Religion  or their Education. Hon. Gbamigboye made it possible and I will forever appreciate you for this singular act you took. 

On Education front, if can’t see those blocks of classrooms you constructed and some you rehabilitated in different schools, I can place my understanding to the awareness of payment of Bursary to Mushin Resident in higher institution and most recently, GCE form given out to those Mushin Residents that interested to have Secondary School Certificate externally. Another thing which I am aware of is, the mission to hand the form to the right hand, I mean those that truly needed it. It is well known that some people do take advantage of opportunity like this and abuse it. I was at the office of the Hon. KAMS Ishola (SA on Education to the Chairman) with us also is Hon. Soji Adeleye (SOJ) during the deliberation on the mission to get the GCE forms to the candidates that truly needed it. You did it by delegation, you never follow up because you believe have capable hand like Hon KAMS Ishola. Mr. Chairman Sir, you display a very good Leadership skill, through DELEGATION.

More about delegation, let me quickly share this: It was Thursday night around 9pm, 22nd of  August, 2024, I was walking around when I saw your road rehabilitation team lead by Hon. Funmi Peters doing the work in Idi Araba road under a high intensity flood light, I was impressed. Inside me that night, I gave kudos. I will also mention Hon. Afeez Talabi for his role in that office of Special Duties. I think you have a good and reliable team.

I was transfixed by this action you took; there’s a newly built multistory block in Oliyide, adjacent to Mushin General Hospital, it was named; Mushin Local Government Annex. The building project was at completion. I learnt that building was not meant to be use by you, it was gathered that you built it to accommodate Federal and State agencies that were posted to Mushin Local Government for a duty. What a well thought project for humanity! You raised a project to give those Special Nigerians a base, I was told it has been assigned to different agencies already. As you do this you will not only be appreciated here but you will also be celebrated!

Many people do address our Chairman as Chairman for  Owo Arugbo (Old men and women stipend, including widows), some known you for Alabere Ajesara (Vaccine for Children) and many call you Baba Go Slow. Looking inwardly, on the health sector, you have done greatly well by providing fund for medication in the Local Government clinic, information has it that every little prescription will be found within and will be given to staffs free of charge. Several project you’ve undertook by equipping all Mushin Pry Health centers including Palm Avenue own. More to that, there’s newly constructed Primary Health Center ongoing Project in Idi Araba, my assessment estimated 90% completion as at the of this writing, I pray it will reach completion, equipped and it will be of good use to all residents in Idi Araba and environs.  In my own opinion, in as much as you are impacting life in different ways, I wanted to say; you are doing wonderfully well! The Spirit of Arugbos and those you are positively impacting will continue to protect you.

Lastly, there’s a stoic quote that said “A man that planted a tree that he knew he won’t be part of those that will enjoy it shade, is the one that understand life” this is where I placed you Sir. You understand life, you have a great wisdom and all these your leadership style put you on pedestal.

In case Hon. Chairman Sir, you may think I am referring to the Tree Planting project you embarked upon couple of months ago, that’s not it. Late September, I got the news of reconstruction of Alamutu Plaintain Market in Idi Oro, that’s another Milestone for your current administration. Why my stoic quote above is that, considering how long it took Mushin Market to be where it is today and considering the time left for your administration of Mushin Local Government, it is clear thought you don’t care who completed the project. You did understand life and you are unselfish type and it why you’re in pedestal! Keep up doing good work till when the time is due as number one Mushin Silent Achiever.

Let me quickly touch base with your team, from you Vice-Hon Haruwe, to the council manager and all NULGE. From the Leader of the house, my friend, Hon Ayegbayo and his deputy, to all other officers, elected councilors, Supervisory Councillors, The Sas and PAs of different duties and lastly the media Team. With all of you doing the job, I believe Hon. Gbamigboye has a reliable team! Kudos to you all!

In the past, I thought other LG Chairmen are flying and I placed it that may be our own Chairman is crawling. But I later found out that there’s no much different in their flying style and your crawling style. I believe you deserve the award and then I can’t imagine what you will achieve when truly you are in flying mode sir, I guess you will explode!  That is why you are number one Mushin Unsung Hero!

         Please where are our ambassadors, who is speaking for us, who are those that are relaying information about us in a diplomatic manner to the world and is the space for lobbying Nigeria interest at the globe, now empty? By my own understanding, they are the Leaders, all kind of Leaders you can think of; Politically, Socially, Institutionally, Religiously and Ethnically. From the above quotes, which of our past and present leader (Democratically Elected Ones) has been great in solving our peculiar problem. I haven’t seen one or rather, by my judgement, they will solve like 10% easy problems and create multiple and bigger remaining 90% of another set of problems.
